Wood is the key characteristic design element of TIMBA. The name was chosen due to its phonetic similarity to the word “timber”.
The legs of the TIMBA table are made from solid oak, either in a natural finish or stained in graphite, and are connected to a frame of shaped wood which is varnished in platinum or anthracite. The legs are slightly tapered and become thinner towards the floor. The high quality, natural material gives an impression of appreciation, stability and warmth. A characteristic of the TIMBA table is the “turntable” in the centre of the table top. It covers the recessed hollow of the “Power Bowl”, where power and network connections can be found. It also functions as a decorative storage place: Pens, notepads and other essentials can be placed here. If you want to connect any equipment, then it is easy to twist the turntable in either direction to immediately reveal and access the connectors.
The turntable is available in two shapes, depending on the geometry and size of the table top: either circular or rectangular with gently rounded corners.
In addition to the MDF white or anthracite powder coated model, there is also a more “true to form” version in solid oak, so that it can be perfectly harmonised with the table legs. A vertical cable duct from table to floor is provided with a netting tube.
As an option, the table is also available without cable management, making it an attractive furniture option for cafeterias or canteens.
The table top of the TIMBA table can be selected in four shapes: round, rectangular and square with rounded edges and a model with a special “soft-edge” square shape. The smallest table surface is a circle with a 1m in diameter; the largest is a rectangle shape of 1400 x 3200mm. This table can accommodate a large team of up to 12 people.
The TIMBA table is also available for standing heights of 1,070mm in addition to the classic seating height of 740mm. For the standing height version, the table legs and table frame are reinforced with metal struts that can be are varnished in black or white. This ensures the best possible sturdiness right up to the largest table top format of 1100mm x 3200mm.
The TIMBA table encourages spontaneity. If coupled with seating of an appropriate height, such as the TIMBA stool high, you can comfortably sit at this level or simply stand next to it. Coming and going – seated or standing, communication remains always at eye level – an application which is especially popular in more informal areas.
